Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, California, Emily is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of University of California at Berkeley and Yale University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (pre-medicine, 2005) and a Master of Science in Nursing (2010). She specialized in pediatric primary care with special interest in dermatology and was awarded the Elizabeth N. Robb Scholarship for academic excellence.

At Berkeley, Emily began her clinical career in research as well as developmental and behavioral pediatrics, serving children with autism spectrum disorders.

Following graduate studies, she worked as a clinical research nurse at Yale University Department of Internal Medicine in addictions medicine. She is a patient advocate and has worked with marginalized patient populations in direct care settings spanning addictions medicine, inpatient psychiatry, and psychiatric emergency medicine in the United States and Canada.

She is the founder of Emily Miller Aesthetic Medicine – a boutique aesthetics clinic in West Vancouver, BC, which she runs with her husband and Medical Director, Dr. Vishal Gupta. In the Emergency Department at Burnaby Hospital Emily worked for nine years with Dr. Gupta. Now in their family business, they are delighted to be working together toward shared goals of excellence and integrity in patient care. Emily Miller Aesthetic Medicine was rated one of Vancouver's Top 5 Best Dermal Filler 2023 by Vancouver Best. 

Emily is a Certified Aesthetic Medicine Practitioner through the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine (CBAM). She is a lecturing CBAM faculty member and clinical instructor. Emily is an international speaker and has regularly been featured on major television network, The CW, to an audience of  three million viewers. Emily delivers evidence-based, patient-centric care that is both detail-oriented and holistic.

Dr. Vishal Gupta grew up in Vancouver, BC, then went on to a six year medical school program in Dublin, Ireland. He graduated with honours from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) where he won the Desmond Lyons Memorial Medal for excellence in medicine.

Dr. Gupta was selected to complete a four year Emergency Medicine residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. He was then selected for a prestigious fellowship at Yale University in Emergency Medicine Ultrasound. Upon graduating from his fellowship, Dr. Gupta was invited to join Yale University as clinical faculty and was granted the competitive 0-1 United States Visa awarded to people of extraordinary talent. When he returned home to Vancouver he brought his American fiancé, Emily Miller, with him.

In 2013, Dr. Gupta took a position as an emergency medicine physician at Burnaby Hospital, the second busiest hospital in Fraser Health Authority, serving over 85,000 patients per year. Dr. Gupta is a University of British Columbia (UBC) Clinical Assistant Professor. In 2015, he was recommended to take over the position of UBC Site Lead in Emergency Medicine where he has grown the program to oversee over 45 medical students and resident rotators per year. During his time at Burnaby Hospital, he has also been elected to represent medical staff of the hospital as Treasurer of the Burnaby Hospital Medical Staff Physician Society.

During the Coronavirus pandemic Dr. Gupta continued his frontline work in the emergency department, as well as took on leadership positions vaccinating the elderly in long term care homes, then as a physician lead at large vaccine clinics in Fraser Health, and took on extra hours working nightshifts for the depleted ICU staff and standing on call for critical codes throughout the Burnaby Hospital.

Dr. Vishal Gupta is the Medical Director at Emily Miller Aesthetic Medicine in West Vancouver. He specializes in Platelet-Rich Plasma regeneration modalities for hair, skin, and joints, bioregeneration techniques with the use of Sculptra, Radiesse, and Morpheus8, as well as acute pain management, and chronic pain management of the head and neck with Botox. Dr. Gupta is a member of Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine (CBAM). His years in emergency medicine have given him an adept procedural skillset and mastery of human anatomy which he brings to the aesthetics practice.
